School has been going well.
(Wednesday)
On the first day we got introduced to everyone, staff and students. We also got put into our sections, which will be, (I think it was George who said) our family for the next 10 months. I got section "D". Not sure if we are going to be changing sections later but everyone seems really nice, and pretty chill. Definitely not as crazy as some of the other sections but still awesome. The whole class, all 215 or whatever people seem so friendly. I haven't met everyone yet but I haven’t talked to or walked passed anyone who I don’t want to hang out with. And I can’t wait till Monday... we get our new cameras!! Woo!
After lunch break we all came back to the auditorium and Mary Ellen Mark (http://www.maryellenmark.com/) spoke to us. She showed us quite a few pictures and her work is really amazing. It was so inspiring; I wish I could capture the mood and ambience that her photos portray. There was such a sense of powerfulness in each and everyone. I know everyone really enjoyed her being there.
(Thursday)
Day two was bOOOOORING. It was pretty much the procedure day. The day to go over all the rules and things they NEEDED to go over. So it was a lot of sitting and yawning.
After lunch though, we got the chance to listen to a motivational speaker. His name was Eric Chester in case you wanted to look him up or anything. He was wayyy better than I thought he was going to be. I definitely thought I was going to fall asleep and wake up as everyone was leaving but no. i even got another chance to meet more people in my class with some of his exercises.
(Friday)
Went over more paperwork in the morning... more teachers spoke about classes and blah blah blah.
After lunch.. We had another professional photographer speak to us. His name was Gary Land. (http://www.garylandphotography.com/) i really enjoyed his beginning. it was a lot of skateboarding. but i really liked the style and everything. His later work... not so much but i still give him credit for everything. still pretty amazing at what he does.
yeah... so that was that. classes start on monday and im supppppper excited. yay!!
